A doctor believed to be from the emergency department of Yan Chai Hospital recently posted photos on his personal social media showing a patient being electrically shocked in the emergency department, raising concerns about possible breaches of professional conduct. After the reports spread, the doctor quickly deleted the post. The Kowloon West Cluster told the press it will review the incident; if staff are found to have breached regulations, they will be dealt with under established personnel procedures and, if necessary, referred to the relevant regulatory bodies.
Screenshots uploaded by netizens show the doctor's Instagram account name as "sojendr." His Instagram Story allegedly contained a photo taken inside an emergency resuscitation bay, showing multiple medical staff gathered around a patient undergoing resuscitation. The doctor captioned the post, "A once-in-a-while cardioversion—everyone come in to watch me shock someone." The post sparked wide discussion; the doctor later deleted the post and temporarily changed the account from public to private.
The doctor is believed to be Jensen, known as the "handsome doctor" who participated in ViuTV's talent show "King Maker III".
The Hospital Authority responded to media enquiries yesterday (March 21), saying the Kowloon West Cluster places great importance on protecting patient privacy and all staff must strictly follow relevant rules to safeguard patient confidentiality. The cluster will not tolerate any staff member disclosing patient privacy in any form. The authority said it will review the incident and, if staff are found to have breached regulations, will handle the matter according to established personnel procedures and, if necessary, refer it to the relevant regulatory bodies.
