On March 15, the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region organized award-winning representatives of the 4th "My Hong Kong Story" English Short Video Contest to visit the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, Zhuhai, for a reporting tour.
The group visited seven core landmarks, including CCCC Huitong Hengqin Plaza and Hengqin Cross-Border E-Commerce (Huafa) Innovation Industrial Park, experiencing the vibrant momentum of Hengqin and Macao's integrated development firsthand.
In the morning, the delegation first visited CCCC Huitong Hengqin Plaza to learn about its core role as a key platform for industrial connectivity between Hengqin and Macao. It then toured Huafa Cross-border E-commerce Industrial Park and witnessed the innovative cross-border e-commerce demonstration zone built on the policy advantages of Guangdong and Macao. The group also explored COL (Hengqin) International Film Studio — China's first professional film and television base focused on exporting short dramas, equipped with 94 real-life shooting scenes, and providing one-stop services for young creators.
Later, the delegation visited Hengqin Culture & Art Complex to experience the new space for cultural sharing between Hengqin and Macao, tried out driverless shuttles to see the innovative smart transport practices in the cooperation zone, and stepped into Zhuhai Hengqin Traditional Chinese Medicine Science and Technology Creative Museum to appreciate the integration of millennium-old TCM wisdom and the "Great Health + Culture & Tourism" development of Hengqin and Macao. Finally, the group arrived at the Blue Dolphin Island Exhibition Hall of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, gaining an in-depth understanding of the construction wisdom behind this century-long project through exhibitions and videos.
During the tour, Aiden Tai, a Food and Nutrition student at the University of Hong Kong, said of his experience at Hengqin International Film & Television City: "It's such a vivid feeling to experience in person what I've only seen on TV."
Khan Mohamed Khalid, a teacher at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, was deeply impressed by the Blue Dolphin Island Exhibition Hall. He praised the artificial island standing in the open ocean for fully demonstrating the country's strong engineering capabilities through its innovative construction methods.
All members of the delegation said they had gained a great deal from the trip. They will take this experience as inspiration to create more high-quality English short videos, telling the world the remarkable stories of Hengqin-Macao integration and the development of the Greater Bay Area, and showcasing the bright prospects of the country's efforts in advancing the Greater Bay Area construction.
