On March 11, US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer announced that the US will launch Section 301 investigations into 16 trade partners, including China, the European Union, Japan, Mexico, Vietnam, and India.
Section 301 investigations are authorized under the US Trade Act of 1974, which empowers the United States Trade Representative to investigate foreign trade practices that are deemed harmful to American businesses.
