Fang Haoming (Al-Obaidi Ameen), an Iraqi journalist with China-Arab TV, has been living in China for 15 years.
Fang said that having lived through two wars in the past, it was only after coming to China that he truly understood the meaning of peace. He noted that China always sets goals for itself and never seeks to challenge other nations, playing the role of peacemaker on the global stage.
Taking the situation in the Middle East as an example, he pointed out that in the face of regional turmoil, some countries were quick to send warplanes, further escalating tensions. China, by contrast, immediately dispatched special envoys to the Middle East to help ease the situation. That, he said, is what makes China special—and it deeply moved him.
