Tania Glouhtcheva, a journalist with Bulgaria's DUMA newspaper, spoke highly of China's development achievements and international role during an interview on March 3, expressing anticipation for the economic and foreign policy signals to be released during the Two Sessions, while extending festive greetings to the Chinese people.
Glouhtcheva suggested that cultural and educational exchanges should be prioritized between the peoples of Bulgaria and China before gradually advancing political cooperation. Having visited China for the first time in 2023, she was genuinely impressed by the warmth of the Chinese people and marveled at the complete elimination of homelessness in the country. She attributed these achievements to China's scientific policy planning and the implementation of five-year plans, noting that China's development accomplishments are widely recognized globally. She predicted that within the next five years, China will become the world's leading economic power while maintaining its top position in technological strength.
Regarding China's international role, Glouhtcheva praised China's wisdom in learning from history and adhering to dialogue-based dispute resolution, calling on the international community to listen to China's propositions and oppose seeking benefits through weapons. She commended China's approach of making friends regardless of ideology, describing it as a model for international relations. She noted that China's visa-free policy for Bulgarian citizens has enabled more Bulgarians to experience firsthand the true face of China, emphasizing that countries developing relations with China should achieve mutual benefits and win-win outcomes.
Glouhtcheva expressed keen interest in the National Two Sessions, particularly looking forward to learning about China's development achievements over the past year and its future plans, with a focus on economic and foreign policies.
Concluding the interview, Glouhtcheva wished the Chinese people a happy Lantern Festival and expressed her eagerness to experience Lantern Festival customs and immerse herself in the charm of traditional Chinese culture.
