According to a recent poll released on March 2, nearly 60% of Americans disapprove of the US taking military action against Iran. The survey was conducted shortly after the US and Israel launched joint military strikes on Iran on Feb. 28.
The results show that 59% of respondents oppose military action, while 39% believe the US did not exhaust all diplomatic avenues to resolve the conflict. Only 27% think the US had made sufficient diplomatic efforts before resorting to force.
A majority of respondents also expressed doubts about US President Donald Trump's handling of the Iran situation. Sixty percent stated that Trump lacks a clear strategy for addressing the conflict, and 62% believe he should seek congressional approval before authorizing any further military actions.
Additionally, a Reuters/Ipsos poll conducted on March 1 revealed that 43% of Americans oppose the US-Israel strikes on Iran, 29% are uncertain, and only 27% support the military action.
