On Feb. 28 local time, the US and Israel launched joint military strikes on Iran, and a girls' primary school was hit by missiles. Iran's foreign ministry spokesperson said the death toll at the school had reached 150–160. At the struck school, bricks and rubble covered desks and chairs, and students' abandoned textbooks were scattered on the floor.

Angry locals said, "The children came to school this morning and are now buried under the rubble! These are the children's textbooks; the pages are stained with the students' blood."
