According to CCTV News, on February 26, a sudden wildfire broke out near Ping Che in Fanling, spreading approximately 100 meters. By the early morning of Feb. 27, reporters at the scene observed that the fire had been extinguished.
The Fire Services Department dispatched six fire trucks from Sheung Shui Fire Station to the site to combat the blaze. The Fire Services Department reported at 11:10 pm on Feb. 26 that the fire was basically under control.
The Hong Kong Police Force stated that they received multiple reports at 5:13 pm on Feb. 26 about the wildfire near the Lung Yeuk Tau section of Sha Tau Kok in Fanling, but no reports of injuries or casualties had been received.
