Jimmy Lai, founder of Next Digital and Apple Daily, was sentenced today (Feb. 9) to 20 years in prison after being convicted of conspiring to collude with foreign forces and publishing seditious publications.
Many local residents expressed strong approval of the verdict, calling it reasonable and well-deserved. Interviewees harshly criticized Lai for what they described as acts of betrayal against the country and attempts to destabilize Hong Kong.
