The opening ceremony of the 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics (Milano Cortina 2026) was held on Feb. 7 (Beijing time). The flag bearers for the Chinese delegation were male speed skater Ning Zhongyan and female short track speed skater Zhang Chutong.
The delegation consists of 286 members, including 126 athletes who will compete in 7 major sports, 15 disciplines, and 91 events, setting a record for the number of events and the scale of athletes for the Chinese delegation in the Winter Olympics held overseas.
The Winter Olympics team uniforms for Chinese athletes have also sparked heated discussions among netizens. The blue down jacket, with its visual effect resembling flowing glaciers, has triggered a nationwide trend of admiration online. The color combination of blue and white, along with the slimming waist belt and traditional pattern designs, has been hailed by netizens as "the most beautiful Winter Olympics team uniform ever."
