If you had to describe Hong Kong to the world in one sentence, how would you put it? Allan Zeman, Chairman of Lan Kwai Fong Group, who has lived in Hong Kong for over 50 years, says, "Here, you'd have a great life."
"What I say to the world: (Hong Kong) one of the special places in the world." After dramatic changes over half a century, Stanley Ho still insists he can't find a better place than Hong Kong. In his view, Hong Kong's combination of a secure environment, free flow of capital, and low tax rates makes it "special"—a place where he can enjoy life and expand his business empire in peace.
Another "special" aspect of Hong Kong, as described by Zeman, is the unprecedented "One Country, Two Systems" framework. He cited reports indicating that 65% of Americans believe China will become—or already is—the world's leading power, noting that Hong Kong consequently benefits from this dynamic. "There is no other place like Hong Kong. Trust Hong Kong."
