Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia with a net worth of US$155 billion, was seen yesterday (Jan. 27) at Baheli Hotpot in Futian, Shenzhen, enjoying a Chaoshan-style fresh beef hotpot—a favorite among local office workers—with six friends in a relaxed and cheerful atmosphere.
According to the Shenzhen Special Zone Daily, a staff member at the Baheli Beef Hotpot Link Central City store revealed that around 6 pm on Jan. 27, "a woman first came to reserve a private room." By 7 pm, seven guests, including Huang, arrived. "They were all very approachable, no different from ordinary diners," the staff said, though Huang's signature hairstyle and black jacket made him instantly recognizable as a global tech industry leader. "During the meal, we didn't dare to disturb him."
Video from the scene shows two plainclothes foreign bodyguards standing outside the private room, keeping an eye on the surroundings. It is understood that Huang and his friends ordered a variety of specialty beef dishes and side items, chatting happily throughout the meal. After tasting the Chaoshan beef, Huang remarked, "The beef in Shenzhen is very fresh and delicious!"
The bill for the seven guests came to just over RMB 800. Before leaving, Huang gladly agreed to take photos with the restaurant staff and even signed his name on a serving plate.
