Renowned martial arts star Bruce Leung sadly passed away at the age of 77. It is reported that Leung suffered a sudden heart failure on January 14, and despite six hours of rescue efforts, he peacefully passed away. Due to Leung's request for discreet funeral arrangements, his family has refrained from making any public announcements. However, his beloved wife, Song Xiang, announced his passing today (Jan. 19) through his senior disciple Danny, stating, "Bruce Leung passed away at 4 pm on January 14, 2026, due to heart failure after six hours of rescue efforts."
Chin Ka-lok, president of the Hong Kong Stuntman Association, sent out the announcement regarding Leung's passing on behalf of his wife, Song Xiang. Chan stated that Leung's family wanted to keep the funeral low-key, but due to speculation about the cause of his death and questions regarding his age, they decided to issue this announcement for clarification.
Chin expressed his sorrow over the loss of his senior and said, "When we started as martial artists, he was already a superstar and martial arts director. I had the precious experience of assisting in the film Chen Zhen, and those memories are still vivid. As for the funeral, his wife will hold it in Shenzhen on January 26, and our association will also meet later to discuss whether we can organize a memorial service."
