According to foreign media reports, on Jan. 9, local time, during a meeting at the White House, a reporter asked US President Donald Trump whether the US would consider arresting Russian President Vladimir Putin, following the recent capture of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife.
Trump responded bluntly, saying, "I don't think it's gonna be necessary...We've always had a great relationship with him."
On Jan. 3, the US carried out a rapid military operation to forcibly remove Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, disregarding international law and the existing international order. This action successfully created a "chilling effect" in the Latin American region, sparking widespread shock and condemnation from the international community.
