Western media hype 'health' to meddle in Jimmy Lai's trial: Contradictory testimony, ironclad evidence of foreign collusion. (DotDotNews)

Jimmy Lai, facing three national security charges, including colluding with foreign forces, resumed trial on Dec. 16 last year. He and his legal team repeatedly sought to adjourn the trial, citing "health issues", with Western media hyping this to interfere in Hong Kong's judicial proceedings. However, Lai's contradictory courtroom testimony was dismissed by the court, which ruled his "health excuses" invalid. The prosecution presented ample evidence of his long-term collusion with foreign forces to endanger national security.

Apple Daily as a Tool for Incitement

Lai long manipulated Apple Daily and its social media platforms, publishing seditious content from 2019 to incite social unrest in Hong Kong. These materials disrupted social order and caused massive losses to Hong Kong's economy and livelihoods.

Western Hypocrisy in Meddling

Western countries have used "human rights" as a pretext to sanction and interfere in Hong Kong's national security legislation over the Jimmy Lai case, turning a blind eye to the 2019 Hong Kong violent incidents that injured over 10,000 police officers and caused huge property damage. This exposes their double standards and attempts to meddle in China's internal affairs.

Hong Kong legal experts stressed that the trial adheres to Hong Kong law and the Basic Law, safeguarding national security and the rule of law. Foreign attempts to interfere in Hong Kong's judiciary are doomed to fail.
