At the invitation of President Xi Jinping, President of South Korea Lee Jae-myung arrived in Beijing on January 4 for a four-day state visit. On the evening of January 5, Lee posted images on the social media platform X, showcasing his use of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra smartphone, which was a gift from Xi Jinping, along with a photo of him and the Xi couple.
On the evening of January 5, Xi Jinping and Peng Liyuan hosted a welcome banquet for Lee and his wife at the Great Hall of the People. The pictures reveal Lee holding up the Xiaomi 15 Ultra while posing for a photo with Xi Jinping, with both couples also taking a group photo together.
Lee shared on his X account that he was pleased with the photo quality, noting that the selfie was taken with the Xiaomi phone he received in Gyeongju from President Xi Jinping and his wife. He expressed gratitude for capturing a memorable moment in his life and remarked that as their relationship grows closer, the South Korea-China relationship will improve. He also stated that they would communicate more frequently and collaborate more closely in the future.
On November 1 last year, after the South Korea-China summit in Gyeongju, Xi Jinping presented Lee Jae-myung with a Xiaomi 15 Ultra smartphone. It is reported that the Xiaomi 15 Ultra features a display made by South Korean electronics giant Samsung.
