A total of 103 students and parents from Hong Kong braved the freezing temperatures to enjoy a unique Christmas holiday far from home this December.
The tour was organized by iTourStudy (HK) and sponsored by the Hulun Buir municipal bureau of culture, tourism, radio, and television, as well as Aixing Aviation.
The team visited several destinations, including Hailar and Erguna, before arriving in Genhe City, known as China's "cold pole." The area holds the record for one of the coldest historical temperatures in China, plunging to nearly -58°C.
Participants engaged in traditional winter activities unique to the region, such as paper cutting, making traditional candied hawthorn sticks, and gathering around a nighttime bonfire.
Ms. Choi, a parent who joined the trip with her primary school-aged son, described the holiday as unforgettable and a resounding success. She remarked, "People might want to consider spending Christmas in Inner Mongolia—it could be even more exciting than traveling abroad."
