The Chinese Medicine Hospital of Hong Kong has recently begun to provide services in phases. In a television program today (Dec. 21), the hospital's Chief Executive, Bian Zhaoxiang, stated that the government-funded general outpatient quota continues to be fully booked. To address this demand, the outpatient quota has been increased by 30%, and adjustments will continue to be made based on clinical needs.
The Commissioner for Chinese Medicine Development in the Health Bureau, Vincent Chung, also mentioned that the government had earlier raised the funding quota for Chinese medicine clinics in all 18 districts from 600,000 to 800,000. He indicated that in the future, the number of clinics will be increased, or their space expanded to provide citizens with a more spacious and comfortable service environment. Another aim of the expansion is to enhance training functions, transforming the clinics into more comprehensive training bases for graduates of Chinese medicine, supporting education and research efforts.
