A scheduled meeting of the Owners' Corporation (OC) for Tai Po's Wang Fuk Court, which was severely damaged in a recent fire affecting nearly 2,000 households, has been postponed due to venue issues, sparking dissatisfaction among residents.

In media interviews, family members of owners expressed concern that the meeting agenda focuses excessively on procedural matters—such as terminating renovation contracts—while overlooking residents' core concerns: investigating the fire's cause, addressing temporary resettlement, and planning long-term reconstruction. They have called on the government to step in, help clarify liability for the incident, and enhance supervision of the Owners' Corporation's operations and use of renovation funds to protect homeowners' rights.

Residents have also criticized the meeting arrangements as inadequate. The venue was reportedly too small, and attendance was restricted to property owners only, barring family members from observing. Even with an online livestream, real-time interaction was not possible, hampering effective communication. Furthermore, the OC has been accused of chaotic and opaque communication regarding renovation matters. Key notices are no longer posted in building lobbies, forcing residents to seek information from security or the OC directly—a process described as "underground," raising concerns about the use of substantial renovation funds.

The fire has imposed significant practical burdens on affected families. One household, for instance, cannot accept government temporary housing because an elderly family member requires daily care in the local district, forcing them to rent privately and increasing financial strain. Many residents are also hesitant to return to the original site due to safety worries and psychological trauma, and they hope the government will consider alternative solutions such as "in-district flat exchange," alongside institutional reforms to improve the OC's transparency and accountability.
