The 59th Hong Kong Brands and Products Expo, organized by the Chinese Manufacturers' Association of Hong Kong (CMA), commenced with an opening ceremony at Victoria Park in Causeway Bay at 10 am today (Dec. 15). Mr. Eric Chan, Chief Secretary for Administration, attended the ceremony, toured the exhibition grounds, engaged with exhibitors, and made purchases totaling HK$3,808 to express his support for small and medium-sized enterprises.
In his opening address, CMA President Wingco Lo stated that the Expo is more than just a trade show; it reflects Hong Kong's journey over the past centuries. Having been open for two days, the Expo has already attracted a continuous stream of visitors. Mr. Lo expressed his encouragement at seeing Hong Kong society healing, moving past sorrow, and returning to the rhythm of daily life, which embodies the resilient, united, and forward-looking spirit of Hong Kong. He noted that the Expo welcomes millions of visitors annually, aiming to encourage SMEs and explore business opportunities for Hong Kong. With the 60th edition approaching next year, he highlighted it as a new starting point for innovation and expressed hope that the event would continue to inject positive energy into Hong Kong.
Mr. Chan and his delegation greeted vendors enthusiastically and sampled local delicacies such as fish maw chicken soup and beverages. Mr. Chan praised the flavors, emphasizing his support for Hong Kong's local brands and expressing his anticipation for the Expo's continued success.
