Today (December 7) marks the Legislative Council General Election Day in Hong Kong, with over 600 polling stations opening simultaneously across the city. At the Kowloon Park polling station, we spoke with Saleem, a voter originally from India.
Saleem currently works in IT software and moved to Hong Kong in 2021, though his family has been rooted in the city for over five decades. This marks his third time voting in Hong Kong, and he emphasized that voting is a basic right for everyone. "A community’s development depends on strong leadership, and every resident should participate actively," he said.
He expressed particular interest in healthcare policies, praising the quality of medical resources in Hong Kong and hoping for further refinements in service efficiency. Saleem also noted the smooth voting process, the early rollout of campaign materials, clear on-site guidance, and the provision of commemorative souvenirs—all contributing to a positive voting experience.
