The death toll from the No. 5 fire at Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po has risen to 94, including one firefighter who lost their life in the line of duty. As of 5 am today (Nov. 28), among the 78 injured individuals, 12 are in critical condition, 28 are serious, 16 are stable, and 22 have been discharged.
Our reporters arrived near the fire scene around 8 am this morning. Observing from the direction of Tai Po Market MTR Station, there were no visible flames on the building, and the smoke at the scene had significantly reduced compared to yesterday, with only a small amount of smoke still rising from one window.
Additionally, around 8 am this morning, volunteers began arriving on the rooftop of Kwong Fuk to distribute supplies to residents. In addition to common items like clothing and food, a pet supplies section was also available, providing dog food, cat food, and pet snacks. There were also homemade cardboard signs created by citizens indicating the distribution areas for various supplies, a rest area for reporters, and a charging station.
