During the event at the White House, Trump was interrupted by the loud clucking of a turkey he was about to pardon, prompting laughter from the audience. The turkey suddenly let out a loud "gobble," after which Trump mimicked the turkey's call as he pardoned it.
During the event, Trump also mentioned that a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine was "very close to being reached."
According to China News Service, with Thanksgiving 2025 approaching, President Trump "pardoned" two Thanksgiving turkeys named "Gobble" and "Waddle" at the White House on Nov. 25.
The tradition of the National Turkey Federation presenting turkeys to the White House for Thanksgiving has been ongoing for 78 years. Today, the president's annual turkey pardon has become a holiday tradition at the White House.
