According to CCTV News reports, on Nov. 19, citizens from Tokyo, Okinawa, and other regions held a protest rally in Tokyo against the Japanese government's advancement of US military base construction in Okinawa and the military buildup in the southwestern islands.

At the rally, participants held signs reading "stop the construction of the Henoko Base" and "stop militarism," chanting slogans that demanded the Japanese government cease its push for the US military base in Henoko. Protesters expressed concerns that expanding military capabilities in the southwestern islands could threaten local security, stating, "The construction of the Henoko base is part of the military buildup itself, and such plans will only further burden Okinawa." They added, "If the government continues to advance militarization without respecting the will of the Okinawan people, Okinawa is likely to become the frontline of a battlefield in the event of war. I participated in the protest today and hope that Sanae Takaichi can retract her erroneous statements and that the government will stop the militarization of Okinawa."

Regarding Takaichi's recent controversial remarks on Taiwan, some protesters described them as extremely irresponsible and dangerous. "The Taiwan question is a domestic matter for China, and Japan and the US should not interfere." They stated, "Takaichi's remarks are indeed very dangerous. To truly maintain peace, Japan must stop its military expansion."
