Recently, the rural boy band "Yunnan BIGBANG" has surged in popularity online. The Guan brothers have transformed their farmhouse courtyard in Zhaotong Province into a stage using corn stalks as props.
Their singing and dancing videos have attracted 6 million views per session and over 700,000 followers in just a week.
They insist on singing live, with chickens and ducks darting across the dance floor and the "urgent cleanup" of droppings as a vivid backdrop. Each livestream ends on schedule, even with over 100,000 viewers, with a simple note: "Time's up. We gotta head to the fields."
When approached for commercial deals, they refuse to promote products but instead advocate for tourism in their hometown.
Eldest brother Guan Heng, making music since 2017, attributes their rise to "just luck." He advises young people: "Don't take pride in this. You must study hard."
Their story highlights that while trends come and go, the sincerity rooted in the land is the most powerful force of our time.
