At around 12 noon today (Nov. 11), renowned director Peter Chan Ho-sun was driving a Mercedes-Benz G-Class SUV along Island Road in Deep Water Bay towards Stanley. Near No. 33, the vehicle reportedly lost control, crashing directly into roadside railings, mounting the pavement, and knocking down a tree.
Online footage shows the involved vehicle damaging the iron railings before coming to a stop on the sidewalk, with a tree apparently broken in front of the car. Chan, dressed in a long-sleeved shirt and jeans, was seen standing by the roadside using his phone to call for assistance.
Peter Chan confirmed through his staff that the traffic incident had occurred, but clarified that he was not injured. Police have classified the case as a traffic accident for investigation.
