The 15th National Games of China has accredited over 3,200 journalists from both domestic and international media to cover the event throughout the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, as announced by officials during a press briefing from the Guangdong Division Executive Committee on Nov. 5.
The Main Media Center (MMC) in Guangzhou is fully operational and officially opens to journalists on Nov. 7. Featuring an innovative "1+2+N" spatial layout, the media infrastructure includes the main MMC at the Guangdong Broadcasting Center and the International Broadcasting Center (IBC) at the Guangdong Television Center. Additional sub-centers are located in Hong Kong (at Sun Yat-sen Memorial Park Sports Center), Macao (at the Macau East Asian Games Dome), and Shenzhen (at the Shenzhen Sports Center). These facilities provide integrated services encompassing workspace, information support, technical assistance, and logistics.
To facilitate reporting, the Games will offer official information services in Chinese, English, and Portuguese, marking a first for a major sporting event in China. A unified backend editing system has been established across the three host regions, with customized front-end interfaces that reflect local cultural elements. Journalists can easily navigate between the Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao portals to access tailored news content.
The online news center will feature quick-access sections for competition updates and athlete profiles, with real-time results and schedules synchronized across all three regions.
Catering innovations include a rotating "Food of Guangdong" program, where 21 cities will present local delicacies and culinary performances daily starting Nov. 9. Fresh lychees preserved using advanced refrigeration technology were showcased at the MMC during the preview.
For enhanced viewing experiences, the Games will use a "Free Perspective System," developed collaboratively by CCTV's state key laboratory, Peng Cheng Laboratory, and local tech companies. This technology, previously tested at a badminton masters' event, allows for 360-degree real-time viewing angles via mobile devices.
