The nomination period for the 2025 LegCo Election ended yesterday (Nov. 6), with voting scheduled for Dec. 7. We took to the streets of Hong Kong and invited foreign travelers from around the world to share their perspectives on "voting."
They come from different countries—the United Kingdom, the United States, Brazil... Some are enthusiastic participants, while others take a wait-and-see approach. Some care about healthcare and education, while others are concerned about the economy and housing. Some say elections in their countries are as lively as festivals, while others say voting is a citizen's duty.
We asked them:
"Will you go to vote?"
"What policies do you care about most?"
"What are election campaigns like in your country?"
"Have you noticed any differences in Hong Kong?"
These voices from afar, in the most genuine tone, answered a seemingly simple yet crucial question about civic consciousness: What does voting mean to you?
