Ilnur Minakhmetov, a Russian native who has been living in Hong Kong since 2012, works as an English teacher at a secondary school. A few years ago, he obtained permanent residency in HK.

Beyond his dedication to education, he actively follows HK's policy developments, social changes, and political issues. Through social media, radio programs, and newspaper columns, he shares his personal insights, establishing himself as an engaged participant in public discourse.

Recently, while discussing HK's 2025 Legislative Council (LegCo) General Election, Ilnur expressed his view that the city's electoral system has been improved. The system allows legislators to be elected through geographical constituencies, functional constituencies, and the Election Committee constituency, ensuring broad representation.

The 2025 LegCo General Election is scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 7. The nomination period runs from Oct. 24 to Nov. 6, during which 90 legislators will be elected across geographical constituencies, functional constituencies, and the Election Committee constituency.
