The 2025 Hong Kong Legislative Council election is scheduled for Dec. 7, with the government actively preparing for the electoral process and making full efforts to encourage voters to cast their ballots on polling day. Chief Executive John Lee wrote to all civil servants today (Oct. 28), strongly calling on and expecting them to lead by example, vote actively, fulfill their civic responsibilities, and take concrete action to elect the Legislative Council members they deem suitable.
John Lee stated that he has instructed all government departments to provide all feasible measures for colleagues on duty on polling day to facilitate their ability to vote. He also called on and urged various public and private organizations, enterprises, and institutions in Hong Kong to encourage their staff to vote and provide feasible conveniences.
