The Hong Kong Tourism Board announced today (Oct. 27) that the four-day Hong Kong Wine and Dine Festival attracted about 163,000 visitors, with daily average attendance increasing by over 30% compared to last year. The total amount of tasting coupons used each day also rose by nearly 40% compared to last year. Merchants reported ideal sales, up about 40% to 50% from last year.
The Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism, Rosanna Law, stated that this year’s Wine and Dine Festival has recorded significant growth in both attendance and spending, showcasing excellent results that reflect the event's popularity among citizens and tourists. The event further highlights Hong Kong’s status as a culinary capital and boosts overall consumer sentiment, allowing residents and visitors to experience the vibrant atmosphere of Hong Kong, especially at night, fully realizing the economic benefits of such events.
This year, the festival featured over 300 booths, with 70% dedicated to wine and 30% to food. Attendees agreed that the event was highly appealing, providing a one-stop opportunity to sample top wines from around the world as well as exquisite gourmet dishes. Some exhibitors reported ideal sales with double-digit growth; merchants noted that the extended opening hours until midnight this year helped attract more residents and tourists, leading to increased foot traffic and revenue.
