On October 19, a robbery occurred at the Louvre Museum, where several masked individuals stole nine pieces of "priceless" jewelry within minutes, prompting the museum to evacuate and announce its closure. One crown belonging to Eugénie de Montijo has been recovered by the police, while the whereabouts of the remaining eight pieces of jewelry remain unknown.
The Paris prosecutor's office stated on Oct. 21 that the estimated economic loss could reach €88 million, and the historical loss caused by the robbery is incalculable. The prosecutor advised the criminals not to dismantle or melt down the jewelry in an attempt to sell it.
