A fatal aviation accident occurred at Hong Kong International Airport in the early hours of today (October 20). A cargo plane arriving from Dubai veered off the runway, crashing into a ground support vehicle at the airport and sending it into the sea, resulting in the deaths of two staff members.
The deceased have been identified as a 41-year-old driver surnamed Ho and a 30-year-old passenger surnamed Chan. Their families were notified and arrived at the hospital visibly devastated, with some needing support to walk.
According to a report by Hong Kong 01, around 9 a.m., four crew members from the cargo plane were transported by a large ambulance to North Lantau Hospital, each wearing triage tags on their chests. At approximately 9:30 a.m., two of the crew members were taken away by police from the hospital to assist in the ongoing investigation.
Authorities are still investigating the incident, and they anticipate releasing more details as the case advances.
