A Strong Monsoon Signal is currently in effect, with the northeast monsoon affecting Hong Kong, causing urban temperatures to be about 2 degrees lower than yesterday (Oct. 19).
The Hong Kong Observatory stated that temperatures in urban areas will drop to 23 degrees in the evening, with the New Territories falling another degree or two.
As tropical storm Fengshen approaches the Guangdong coast, the Observatory will consider issuing a Strong Wind Signal No. 3 signal between 5 pm and 7 pm to replace the Strong Monsoon Signal.
