
At approximately 4 p.m. today (Oct. 18), a major fire erupted at a construction site located at 34-37 Connaught Road Central, Hong Kong. Reports indicate that three individuals were trapped in the blaze, prompting the Fire Services Department to commence firefighting operations. By 4:36 p.m., the fire was upgraded to No. 3 alarm. Currently, there are no visible flames on the exterior of the building.

According to Sing Tao, it was reported that three individuals were once trapped in an elevator but were later safely rescued. Firefighters deployed a ladder to extinguish the fire, while approximately 50 people evacuated on their own. At least three men and one woman experienced discomfort from smoke inhalation and required transportation to Queen Mary Hospital for treatment.
