Music star Khalil Fong has been gone for eight months, but fans and friends continue to remember him, establishing memorial benches in both the UK and Canada.
The memorial bench in the UK is located at Victoria Embankment Gardens in London, while the one in Vancouver, Canada, was installed on Oct. 8 in Stanley Park, overlooking English Bay.
The inscription on the Canadian bench carries a similar sentiment to that in the UK: "In Memoriam: Khalil Fong Soulboy (1983-2025) Ignite our hearts, rekindle our spirit, and believe that the world is one and mankind its citizens. Love, fans."
The initiator in Vancouver mentioned earlier on a crowdfunding website that the memorial bench was supported by Khalil's friends and family in Vancouver, and the inscription was penned by his mother, adding to the significance of the gesture. The initiator recalled that petals were drifting from the trees above the bench, creating a romantic and tranquil atmosphere, and a handmade knitted piece featuring the cover of Khalil's last album, The Dreamer, was attached to the bench. After its installation, fans visited the bench to lay flowers and bring the The Dreamer album in remembrance.
