During the National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holiday period, the "Zhuhai + Hong Kong and Macao" cross-boundary tourism route emerged as a popular choice. According to statistics from the Zhuhai Immigration Inspection Station, in the first five days of the holiday, the station inspected approximately 3.52 million inbound and outbound passengers and about 200,000 means of transport, representing year-on-year increases of 4% and 19% respectively.

Among these, the cross-boundary vehicle traffic at the Zhuhai Port of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HZMB) saw a year-on-year increase of over 18.2%, exceeding 110,000 vehicles, ranking first among all ports in the country. As the holiday enters its final two days, ports in Zhuhai, Hong Kong, and Macao are beginning to experience the peak return passenger flow.

Bridge Port Daily Vehicle Flow Exceeds 20,000 for Five Consecutive Days

A relevant official from the Zhuhai Immigration Inspection Station stated that the well-developed transportation infrastructure in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, coupled with facilitative measures such as smart customs clearance and the further implementation of immigration policies like "multiple visits per week" and "multiple-entry permits," has significantly enhanced the convenience of cross-border travel. This has made "Zhuhai + Hong Kong and Macao" tourism one of the hot travel routes during this year's National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, with a continuous growth trend in vehicle and passenger flow.

"Driving from Hong Kong, we can reach our destination directly after clearing customs without changing cars. The wind and rain didn't affect our travel plans," said Mr. Chan, a Hong Kong car owner who took his family northbound through the Zhuhai Port of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge during the National Day holiday to attend a food culture festival in Guangzhou.

An official from the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Immigration Inspection Station mentioned, "On Oct. 5, Zhuhai was affected by Typhoon Matmo, bringing strong winds and rain, but vehicle clearance at the port was not significantly impacted. The daily vehicle flow exceeded 23,000 that day, marking the fifth consecutive day the port's daily vehicle flow has surpassed 20,000."

During the National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, major shopping malls in the Pearl River Delta rolled out diverse thematic activities such as shopping discounts, fun interactions, and night market delicacies, attracting a large number of Hong Kong and Macao tourists to drive north for the experience. Data from the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Immigration Inspection Station shows that during the holiday period, the cross-border traffic of "Northbound Travel for Hong Kong Vehicles" and "Northbound Travel for Macao Vehicles" reached 72,000 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 25%, accounting for over 65% of the total vehicle flow. Nearly 290,000 Hong Kong and Macao passengers entered and exited through the Bridge's Zhuhai Port, a year-on-year increase of nearly 21%, accounting for nearly 58% of the total passenger flow.

Nearly 160,000 Tourists "Took Boat Tours to View the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge"

It is worth noting that the "Sightseeing Tour of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge by Water" activity project was particularly popular during the holiday. According to data provided by the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Maritime Safety Administration, as of the evening of Oct. 5, nearly 160,000 passengers had been safely transported via water channels, with cumulative supervised passenger ship voyages exceeding 1,200. During this period, the administration tracked ship movements through intelligent maritime platforms, monitoring systems, and video surveillance systems. It implemented dual controls of "electronic fencing + on-site cruising" for risk points such as bridge channels, areas where merchant and fishing vessels converge, and coastal recreational activity waters to ensure the safe travel of passengers.
