The National Day and Mid-Autumn Golden Week holiday (Oct. 1–8) has brought a surge of tourists to Hong Kong. According to the Immigration Department, 676,000 visitors arrived in the first three days, marking a 6.3% year-on-year increase. Popular attractions and theme parks have also reported higher visitor numbers. Despite the impact of Tropical Storm "Matmo," the holiday spirit remains undeterred, with bustling crowds filling the streets and landmarks across the city.
Today (Oct. 4), the reporter from DotDotNews observed open-top sightseeing buses—nicknamed "Sunset Roller Coasters"—transporting large groups of international tourists to the iconic "Monster Building" (a group of five connected buildings built in the 1960s) in Quarry Bay. Visitors from countries such as South Korea, Spain, and Japan were seen enthusiastically posing for photos with the famous structure.

The "Monster Building," a relatively new hotspot for social media photos, is located on King's Road in Quarry Bay. It consists of five interconnected old residential blocks. Its dense architectural layout, massive scale, vibrant colors, and retro aesthetic evoke a strikingly "cyberpunk" visual appeal that has drawn countless visitors seeking the perfect photo.
In recent years, the "Monster Building" has also become a popular filming location, featuring in Hollywood blockbusters such as "Transformers: Age of Extinction" and "Godzilla vs. Kong," as well as GOT7's music video "You Are."
