Patrick Tse celebrated his 89th birthday recently, and in photos, he still looks stylish wearing sunglasses.
He shared that when he feels hungry at home, he will cook for himself, eating whatever is available in the fridge without being picky. In recent years, he has maintained the habit of having multiple small meals, usually eating until he is about 60-70% full.
Perhaps due to his decades-long career in the industry, his body has become accustomed to extreme conditions. He mentioned that if he feels a bit hungry now, a few nuts can suffice as a meal. In previous interviews, he disclosed that he still smokes, advising ordinary people not to follow his example: "Since entering the entertainment industry, I've gotten used to an irregular lifestyle; it's been like this for decades. Sometimes I only sleep 2 or 3 hours a night, and other times I stay up all night."
Because of the film Time, Tse swept multiple awards, including Best Actor at the Hong Kong Film Awards, the Hong Kong Film Directors' Guild, and the Hong Kong Film Critics Society. His co-star, Petrina Fung, who played his son in the film The Love Tree as a child actor, shared her thoughts on witnessing Tse receive awards. She remarked on his dedication to maintaining his appearance: "In my opinion, the only person who has managed to remain a top leading man across the decades is Patrick Tse. He is very disciplined and has maintained his physique through willpower and perseverance. Fitness is part of his daily routine. He told me that he has only ever had one job, which is being an actor, a profession that requires a great deal of self-discipline."
Tse takes pride in the outfits he wore in his youth, many of which he still wears today. He has so many clothes that they need multiple wardrobes to store them: "I love buying clothes to dress myself! To look good, you need a fit body, which gives me the motivation to stay committed to exercising."
