Tropical cyclone Tapah is gradually moving away from Hong Kong and is expected to cross Guangxi Province today (Sept. 9) and gradually dissipate. The Hong Kong Observatory forecasts that there will still be showers and thunderstorms along the southern coast for the next two days (Sept. 9 and 10); however, starting this Thursday (Sept. 11), there will be five consecutive days of good weather with clear skies and daytime temperatures reaching up to 34 degrees.
The latest report from the Observatory indicates that due to an active southerly airstream, there will still be showers and thunderstorms along the southern coast in the next two days. It is expected that an upper-level anticyclone will cover southern China from mid-week to early next week, bringing generally clear skies and light winds, with persistently hot weather. According to the Observatory's nine-day weather forecast, there will be occasional showers in the next two days, with heavier showers and thunderstorms in some areas at first. From the day after tomorrow, the weather will be mostly fine for several days, with daytime temperatures reaching up to 34 degrees from Friday to next Monday (Sept. 12 to 15). There will be sunshine at times next Tuesday and Wednesday (Sept. 16 and 17), but it will still be hot during the day.
