Chief Executive John Lee visited the Eastern District today (Aug. 30) and later met the media alongside the Secretary for Home and Youth Affairs, Alice Mak, and the Secretary for Labour and Welfare, Chris Sun.

Lee expressed deep sorrow over the recent family tragedy. He emphasized that the current top priority is to provide the most urgent support and assistance to the affected families.

He also stressed that everyone may face various pressures and difficulties in life, and the key is to maintain an open attitude and proactively seek help.

"The core values of society and community lie in mutual assistance and inclusiveness. Whether the issues are financial, work-related, or otherwise, it is important to communicate in a timely manner with those around you and relevant government departments. Many challenges are often temporary and difficult to resolve alone, but through timely communication and support, solutions can often be found."

Lee called on everyone to embrace a caring heart.

"If you notice that relatives, friends, colleagues, or others around you are facing difficulties, take the initiative to communicate and offer support to help them through tough times."

According to Lee, the government has also established multiple channels and is willing and able to assist those in need.
