The Shenzhen Gymnasium was established in 1985, and its gymnasium was one of the eight major cultural buildings in Shenzhen during the 1990s. After a comprehensive upgrade, the gymnasium officially opened to the public on Oct. 18 last year, while the stadium hosted its first event in March this year. Both the sports center and the stadium are now fully open. Currently, the stadium serves as the home ground for the Chinese Super League team Shenzhen Peng City FC.
During the upcoming 15th National Games, the stadium will host U18 and U20 men's events as well as archery competitions, while the sports center will hold badminton and darts events, totaling seven competitions.
