On August 26, 2025, the 15th Annual Conference of the 2025 Annual Conference of the Overseas Chinese Media Cooperation Organization (OCMCO) was grandly launched in Changsha, Hunan, China.

On August 26, 2025, the 15th Annual Conference of the 2025 Annual Conference of the Overseas Chinese Media Cooperation Organization (OCMCO) was grandly launched in Changsha, Hunan, China. Around 120 senior representatives from 84 Chinese-language media outlets across 37 countries and regions gathered for a five-day exchange and exploration program.

As the event draws to a close today (August 29), participants widely expressed that they have gained valuable insights and built meaningful connections, leaving with a strong impression of Hunan's development and potential.

Launched alongside the annual conference, the large-scale media event "Building a Global Innovation Hub and a University Startup Base — 2025 Hunan Tour for Global Chinese Media Executives" was hosted by the Publicity Department of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, co-organized by the Global Chinese-language Media Cooperation Organization and Ta Kung Wen Wei Media Group (Hong Kong). The goal is to showcase Hunan's high-quality development and promote media cooperation worldwide.

The delegates agreed that telling China's story well is their shared responsibility and duty. This journey to Hunan allowed them to witness firsthand both the speed and warmth of China's development. They look forward to gathering again next year to continue amplifying the international voice of Chinese-language media.

During this year's conference, the organization officially released the "Changsha Initiative," outlining five key action directions for overseas Chinese-language media in the new era:

  • Preserve collective memory and amplify the Chinese voice
  • Inherit cultural roots and promote mutual understanding
  • Address international concerns and shape a new discourse
  • Strengthen cooperation and build global Chinese media connectivity
  • Anchor in our era's mission and step into the future together

The initiative emphasized a unified media strategy — co-creating content, sharing technologies, and integrating resources — to make Chinese stories resonate more powerfully around the world.

With the Xiang River surging and Mount Yuelu standing tall, Hunan has opened its arms to the world, building a new bridge for cooperation among Chinese-language media. From Changsha, we set out again — hand in hand — to tell China's story well and let the world hear a voice that is credible, lovable, and respectable.
