WTT Champions Yokohama 2025 entered its fifth day of competition today (Aug. 11), with the Chinese women's table tennis team sweeping the semifinals and securing the top two spots in advance. In the first semifinal, Sun Yingsha faced teammate Shi Xunyao, ultimately winning 4-1 to advance to the final.
After the match, Sun Yingsha commented, "Overall, my performance in today's semifinal was fairly normal. However, Shi Xunyao has been in great form recently and possesses absolute strength, so I didn't handle the preparation and rhythm particularly well in the first game. But after the first game, my overall rhythm and some technical strategies were quite normal. The schedule today was tight, but whether facing Chen Xingtong or Wang Yidi, it will be a tough match. So, regardless of which match it is, I will give my all."
In this match, Sun Yingsha lost the first game but won the next four, finishing with a score of 4-1 against Shi Xunyao. The individual game scores were 7-11, 11-3, 11-9, 11-6, and 11-7.
In the final, scheduled for 4:30 pm today, Sun Yingsha will face the winner between Chen Xingtong and Wang Yidi in an "internal battle" of the Chinese team.
