K-pop superstar and BIGBANG leader G-Dragon (GD) is set to captivate fans in Hong Kong with not only his music but also his artistry. Following highly anticipated and sold-out concerts at the AsiaWorld-Expo on Aug. 9 and 10, GD will bring his renowned media art exhibition, G-DRAGON MEDIA EXHIBITION: Übermensch, to Harbour City in Tsim Sha Tsui from Aug. 15 to Sept. 7.
Originally launched in Seoul to celebrate the release of GD's third solo album, Übermensch, the exhibition employs cutting-edge technology, including holographic projections, virtual reality (VR), and artificial intelligence (AI). Fans can expect an immersive experience that brings them closer to their idol, blurring the boundaries between music, art, and technology. The exhibition offers a rare opportunity to explore GD's unique artistic vision and charm.
The term "Übermensch," which originates from German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche, symbolizes transcending human limitations and creating new values. GD has drawn inspiration from this concept for both his exhibition and album. Released in February 2025, Übermensch marks GD's first solo album in 11 years, featuring eight tracks for which he composed and wrote all lyrics.
When discussing the album cover, GD explained, "It represents the confrontation between my past self during the Heartbreaker era and my present self—marking my journey from the starting point to now."
Taking place across two key locations within Harbour City—LEVEL 4, Ocean Centre, and ATRIUM I, G/F, Gateway Arcade—the exhibition promises to be a must-see attraction for fans and art enthusiasts alike.
Stay tuned for more details about the exhibition, as organizers are expected to reveal additional information soon. Don't miss this chance to experience G-Dragon's world like never before!
