American media outlet CNN has exposed a new video featuring US President Donald Trump interacting with Jeffrey Epstein during a 1999 Victoria's Secret fashion show. The video shows the two men laughing and conversing, underscoring the close relationship they had.
Trump was named by victims decades ago
According to earlier reports, Maria Farmer, an artist and one of the first women to report Epstein's sexual crimes in 1996, had named Trump among the powerful figures surrounding Epstein.
In an interview with The New York Times, Farmer said she had urged law enforcement officers at the time to investigate Epstein's influential connections, including Trump. Farmer also reiterated this information during a 2006 FBI inquiry into Epstein.
She specifically mentioned Trump due to an unsettling encounter in 1995 at Epstein's office. Farmer said that she has long wondered how law enforcement handled her complaints in 1996 and 2006.
House speaker suspends sessions to block Epstein-related vote
House Speaker Mike Johnson announced that he would adjourn the House until September to avoid a vote on releasing the Jeffrey Epstein files. Johnson stated that President Trump "approved" the decision, temporarily halting procedural voting.
At a press conference, Johnson expressed frustration over what he called Democrats' "endless efforts to politicize the Epstein controversy and the whole investigation." He insisted that Republicans remain ideologically consistent and said, "We (Republicans) are not going to play political games with this."
