Renowned economist Prof. Jiaming Zhu gave a talk at this year's Hong Kong Book Fair on "AI and Cultural Revolution: The End of Anthropocentrism".
He selected the contents of five of his ten books published in the past six years to discuss in depth the far-reaching impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on individuals, society, and the future. Prof. Zhu pointed out sharply that the "anthropocentrism" established since the Renaissance has been completely ended by the development of AI, which is becoming a subject parallel to human beings.
He suggested that young people should actively "accept, embrace and learn from AI" and consider it as a partner to complete the transformation of their lives, and urged them to maintain independent thinking and respond rationally instead of panicking in the face of this new, almost "omniscient and omnipotent" force.
The lecture was very well received, attracting many fans to listen and purchase books for autographs, which sold well. The book fair also featured a special interview with Prof. Zhu, the youngest fan at the lecture.
