On the evening of July 14, heavy rain impacted large areas of the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast US, causing flooding in parts of New York City and northern New Jersey, leading to the closure of several major roads. Some areas of New Jersey experienced flash floods and heavy rainfall, prompting Governor Phil Murphy to declare a state of emergency.

Additionally, flooding in Texas has resulted in at least 132 fatalities since July 4, with over a hundred people still missing. Search and rescue operations continue in the heavily affected Kerr County.
