The naval ship formation, consisting of the aircraft carrier Shandong, the guided-missile destroyers Yan'an and Zhanjiang, and the guided-missile frigate Yuncheng, arrived in Hong Kong on the morning of July 3, commencing a five-day visit to the city.
The Shandong is anchored at the western anchorage of Victoria Harbour, while the Zhanjiang and Yuncheng are docked at the Ngong Shuen Chau Naval Base and opened to the public for visits starting today (July 5). A DotDotNews reporter arrived at the Naval Base this morning and, after queuing for 5 to 10 minutes at the boarding area, successfully boarded the Zhanjiang for a tour.
Missile launch systems, main guns, secondary guns, and phased array radar systems are all open for viewing and photography.
