Tesla founder Elon Musk has recently launched a series of criticisms against the US government's "One Big Beautiful Bill Act." On July 1, US President Donald Trump said he might consider deporting Musk.
When asked whether Musk could face deportation for his criticism of the "One Big Beautiful Bill Act," Trump responded, "I don't know. We'll have to take a look. We might have to put DOGE (Department of Government Efficiency) on Elon." He further described DOGE as a "monster that might have to go back and eat Elon."
Musk previously served as the head of DOGE after Trump's administration came into power but stepped down in late May.
Trump noted that the Act proposes eliminating tax breaks for electric vehicles, a move that "has upset Musk." He also warned Musk that "he could lose a lot more than that." The news caused Tesla's stock to plunge by 6% in pre-market trading.
On June 30, Musk posted dozens of tweets attacking the Act. He threatened to unseat congressional members who vote in favor of the bill and declared that he would establish an "America Party" the day after its passage.
Responding to Musk's outburst, Trump remarked on social media that Musk has likely received more government subsidies than anyone in history. "Without subsidies, Elon would probably have to close up shop and head back home to South Africa," Trump said.
